2014 Year in Review

Two days until the new year! Figured I should go over my resolutions for this year and see how well I did!
I've changed a lot this year, going through therapy and learning how to better myself.  I feel a heckton better about everything, so it's kinda funny reading my 2014 New Year's post. What a grouch LOL.
Anyways! For 2014!



1. Get off my lazy bum and be more productive.
That was actually one of my keypoints during therapy! I wanted to be more productive! And I really am getting better about that!
2. Draw more.
I think I am! In any case, more people at school know about my art now!
3. Sing more.
...oops. Still yet to release that solo cover.
4. Get back to learning programming.
...another oops.
5. Write more.
Heck yeh.
6. Cook more.
...this is... questionable.
7. Practice art technique, especially with those watercolors.
My technique is getting better! Still figuring out watercolors though.
8. Practice singing technique, especially bridging the gap between head voice and chest voice.
Like number 3. Oops.
9. Get back to learning piano.
Nope.
10. Try to keep up with school work.  School's hard right now with depression and anxiety and everything, but keep trying!
Yea! Doing a heckton better with that!
11. On that note: Be at school more often.  You can't keep missing days just because your anxiety and depression are acting up.
Yep! Going to school more now that I know how to handle my anxiety and depression!
12. Pay more attention to appearances (AKA: brush your hair before going to school, dummy.)
Still don't brush my hair before going to school oops ahaha. This is hit or miss I guess? Like there's days where I don't even shower, and then there's days where my hair is braided and I have makeup and nice clothes on.
13. Stop chewing your nails so you can finally paint them.
I don't chew my nails... as much? 8D In any case, they're painted and pretty ehehe
14. Watch more anime.
...oops.
15. Practice Chinese more (with who? No one speaks my dialect oops.)
...I dunno if I spoke more Chinese this year or not tbh.
16. Stop being as fearful about talking with friends.  They don't bite.
Overwhelming heck yes. Actually going out with friends now yeah!!!
17. Exercise more.
I actually went swimming and tennis with friends over the summer this year? 8D (in terms of regularly exercising, though, I think I'm actually doing worse.)
18. Start practicing kungfu at home.
Oops.
19. Don't be on the computer as much.
Yes actually! Cuz I'm out more often!
20. Remember to stretch for carpal's tunnel.
...oh yeah.
21. Pay more attention to your health, especially that dang heartburn.
Actually watching what I eat and keeping some antacids in my bag now! Feeling a lot healthier!
22. Try to sleep before 1 am.
...once again, hit or miss. I actually went to bed before midnight a few times though!
23. Try to wake before noon.
For the most part, I get up at 11, sometimes getting up at 7, sometimes at noon. so still hit or miss.
24. Try to be with family more often.
Am I? I think I am.
25. Don't lock yourself in your room all the time.  At least sit in the living room, if you can.
Yea!
26. Hang out with friends more.
Heck yea!
27. Don't be afraid of social interaction.  Necessary for that previous one.
Yea yea yea! Made new friends this year!
28. Bake more.
...I don't think I did, actually.
29. Make stuff for your friends.  Seriously.  Like cookies.
Unfortunately no :/
30. Get back into working with clay.  Idk, go to a craft store and get some polymer clay or something.
Ohyea huh.
31. Ask Dad to teach you some watercolor tricks.  Or Grandpa.
"I'll help you when I'm not busy." Thanks Dad.
Grandpa's advice: "Use a pencil". Thanks Grandpa.
32. Ask Dad or Grandpa for art tips in general.
Actually been drawing more with Grandpa heck yea!
33. Help Grandma in the kitchen more.  Learn more about cooking.
Whoops.
34. Get out more.
Overwhelming heck yea!
35. Try to work on that fear that keeps you from sleeping.
Sleeping a lot easier now!!
36. Do at least some of your homework without needing your friend to get you to.
Yea!!!
37. Focus on good things! Even small things!
Yea!
38. Try not to be down as much ;w; Hard, and big words, I know. But try!
Yea Yea yea!!!
39. Learn how to take selfies dammit.
Yeh!!
40. Read more.
I think I'm actually reading less oops.
41. Remember to take care of your skin! Little lotion goes a long way!
Actually putting lotion on from time to time now!
42. Try to take baths earlier in the day.
Depends. Some days I shower at like 1am and other days (like today) I'll shower right after waking up.
43. Eat less sugar.
Oops. I'm eating more sugar than ever oops.
44. Especially stop using snacks and sugar as a nervous crutch at school.
Uhh idk if it's even a nervous crutch anymore it's just a habit to eat in like every class why am I so hungry.
45. Stop that other nervous habit of biting on your hand.  You might break skin and get blood one day.
Stopped it! 8D Using lotion on my wrists now, so much better.
46. Get back into animating.
Ohyea I needed to do that huh.
47. Get back into video editing.
Ahaha nopes.
48. Especially do those ones you told your brother you were gonna do but never did.
...?? I don't even remember what that means tbh???
49. Stop getting depressed about the past (as much).  What happened happened, and there's nothing you can do to change it.  What's best is to just forget and keep going.  LET IT GOOOO-- (not sorry).

50. Man this is starting to get difficult ahaha. Work on your tummy!
Uhh. I like my tummy a bit more now? Even if it's still about the same size.
51. Wear more shorts and skirts to school!
OVERWHELMING YEAHH who even wears pants anymore pshhh
52. Take shorter showers.
Uh. Oops.
53. Stop using the bathroom as a crutch.  Your family's getting suspicious.
Still using the bathroom sometimes. Not as often though.
54. Clean your room more often.
...I'm actually supposed to be cleaning my room right now.
55. Heckie, clean the house.

56. Clean your laptop ahaha.

57. Get back to learning to sew.

Did a little tennis over the summer with friends quq still can't really hit the ball, but.

71. Stop comparing yourself to other people.  You are you and you are wonderful at being you.

72. Stop letting your family's words get to you.  Even if they're family and they're supposed to be special, they're not so special that their words should have that much meaning.  You are you, and they are them.  They are other people, even if they are your family.

73. Work on your focus.  V.important.  You got distracted too many times to count while making this list (at least double digits thanks to Tumblr).
oops. I'm actually getting distracted while trying to finish my commentary AHAHAH
74. Work on lessening that fear of eye contact.
eye contact is still weird tbh.
75. Be more confident in yourself.

90. Do that audio diary thing more.  idc how.  Get a soundcloud for it or something.  It's good practice speaking, showing emotions through speech, and mixing.

99. Don't hide behind your hair as much.  ...My stomach is feeling sick just thinking about not being able to hide behind my hair oops.  Well, we'll try to work on it.

100. Get a hair cut, once you get 99 done.  Maybe cut it short.
Still wanting that hair cut!
